About the Role
Description
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) to support laboratory operations at the VA Maine Healthcare System in Augusta, Maine. This onsite position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality laboratory services that directly support Veteran patient care in a collaborative clinical environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and blood bank as assigned
- Process patient specimens and verify test results
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
- Perform quality control and maintain required documentation
- Follow laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field
- Current MLS, MT, ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification
- Clinical laboratory experience in hospital or similar setting
- VA Credentialing/Background Screening
Preferred Experience
- Generalist laboratory experience
- Experience with automated analyzers and laboratory information systems
