Institutional Clients Group (ICG) is a strategically important sector for CIB and, as a result, attracts significant senior attention and visibility across the organisation. Given the portfolio’s global footprint and the bank’s clear ambition to accelerate growth in this area, the role provides strong exposure to a wide range of teams and stakeholders worldwide. It offers the opportunity to work across geographies and functions, building relationships and contributing to priorities that are central to the bank’s broader strategic agenda.
What you will do:
Within ICG, the role holder will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of ICG clients, with a primary focus on banking institutions. The coverage will span selected countries and geographies across Continental Europe, requiring effective relationship management across multiple markets and client segments while maintaining a clear focus on portfolio performance and client needs. This position is based in Paris. Regular travel across Continental Europe is expected to support ongoing client engagement, including in-person meetings and relationship management activities. The frequency and destinations of travel will vary depending on the specific client portfolio and business needs.
In this role you will:
- Act as a trusted adviser, managing and growing a portfolio of Insurance and Investor clients, with deep sector insight and the ability to align cash management solutions across HSBC’s network.
- Coordinate effectively with HSBC teams across markets and functions to shape solutions and deliver high-quality sales proposals.
- Perform thorough client analysis to identify opportunities and build a robust pipeline.
- Develop business plans and go-to-market strategies in partnership with Corporate and Institutional Banking Coverage.
- Deliver agreed financial and non-financial targets, with accountability for new revenue and the retention and growth of portfolio income.
- Partner with GPS Product, Liquidity, Client Implementation and Integration to ensure seamless deal transition and revenue realisation.
- Keep clients informed of cash management trends, market developments and regulatory changes, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate, timely sales records to support performance tracking and reporting.
- Represent HSBC at conferences, roadshows and industry events, and support the development of case studies and press content.
You should apply if you have:
- Extensive experience of providing global cash management services, coupled with sound knowledge of the sector, payments landscape, trends and regulatory environment
- Experienced in managing complex clients and deals across multiple countries
- Strong understanding of the day-to-day operations of cross-border payments, clearing schemes, and the regulatory frameworks governing the payments landscape
- In depth knowledge of cash management solutions; payments and receivables (on-behalf of payments / correspondent banking), e-channels, reporting, reconciliation and liquidity management
- Proven sales record with demonstrable evidence of successful selling of large/complex transactions to major customers
- Highly motivated and achievement driven with an ability to formulate and articulate sales strategies and work under pressure with Key Performance Indicators
- Ability to communicate at all levels of senior and executive management both within the HSBC Group, and at senior levels in customer organisations (Network Management, Treasury Functions, Payment Operations)
