Senior Sales Manager, Fintechs & Paytechs - Institutional Clients Group, GPS (f/m/d)

Institutional Clients Group (ICG) is a strategically important sector for CIB and, as a result, attracts significant senior attention and visibility across the organisation. Given the portfolio’s global footprint and the bank’s clear ambition to accelerate growth in this area, the role provides strong exposure to a wide range of teams and stakeholders worldwide. It offers the opportunity to work across geographies and functions, building relationships and contributing to priorities that are central to the bank’s broader strategic agenda.
What you will do:
Within ICG, the role holder will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of ICG clients, with a primary focus on Fintech and Paytechs. The coverage will span select countries and geographies across Continental Europe, requiring effective relationship management across multiple markets and client segments while maintaining a clear focus on portfolio performance and client needs. This position is based in Paris. Regular travel across Continental Europe is expected to support ongoing client engagement, including in-person meetings and relationship management activities. The frequency and destinations of travel will vary depending on the specific client portfolio and business needs.
In this role you will:
- Work with key stakeholders from across the bank to develop and execute Sales Strategy for Fintech clients across the Continental Europe region
- Work in close partnership with Coverage Bankers/RMs, global/regional GPS Institutional Sales counterparts, and Product partners to identify and develop business opportunities and to jointly formulate a client engagement strategy for Fintech sector to deepen HSBC’s global cash management wallet share and grow revenues
- Lead Sales for GPS for a portfolio of Fintech clients, adopt a needs-based advisory approach to understand individual customers, as well as industry sector requirements, and provide appropriate cash management solutions that meet those requirements
- Effectively lead, coordinate and collaborate with the HSBC team across European markets and functions to develop appropriate solutions, construct product proposals and deliver sales pitches
- Work closely with the Implementation, Integration and Client Service teams to ensure smooth transition of client mandates into realized revenues, as well as to provide ongoing coverage in response to clients’ evolving challenges and requirements
- Feedback to the Product teams on the competitive market landscape and client specific requirements, to help drive product enhancements/developments as appropriate
- Drive broader support for the Fintech sector strategy, including participation in events, case studies, client testimonials, client planning and wallet sizing activities
- Coach and lead team members across Institutional Sales on sales strategy formulation for the Sector, pipeline management and sales conversion techniques
- Proactively collaborate with global and regional sales leads to develop a pipeline that is coordinated with Coverage Bankers and prioritized according to opportunity and value to HSBC.
You should apply if you have:
- Proven track record of dealing with complex, global clients, with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience. Direct exposure to the Fintech sector would be an advantage
- Experience of managing a client portfolio and/or responsibility for a driving client cross-sell and satisfaction metrics, plus a proven sales record with strong data analytical skills
- Understanding of global and European payments, cash and liquidity management, market and competitive trends and sector based regulatory environment
- Proven experience in managing large complex relationships in client facing roles, demonstrating an understanding of risk management, structures, credit, products, processes, in an individual contributor capacity
- Demonstrates in-depth understanding of the day-to-day operating model, processes, and controls across Treasury and Finance Operations
- Experience working in a Banking of Financial Services environment, and relevant experience in payments, cash management, banking relationship management and/or corporate product sales
- Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs by matching a broad range of products and services, and delivering creative and flexible customer solutions within a deadline
- Ability to communicate at all levels of senior and executive management both within the HSBC Group, and at senior levels in customer organisations (Head of Parternships, Treasurer, Financial Director, and CFO)
