About the Role

Prairie Band Health Services is looking for dedicated Emergency Room Physicians to join our close-knit healthcare team at Cass Lake IHS in beautiful Cass Lake, Minnesota.

What We Offer:

· Flexible Scheduling – Full Time* Part Time* PRN* Rotating 

· Emergency Room experience as an MD is required—your expertise is key

· IHS facility experience is a plus

· Board certification in Emergency Medicine preferred

· Valid medical license from any U.S. state accepted

· Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients required



Duties:

· Delivering immediate care to patients with acute conditions or trauma in the ER

· Performing examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and making accurate diagnoses

· Stabilizing critically ill or injured patients using emergency procedures

· Collaborating closely with nurses and fellow healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

· Maintaining clear, detailed medical records and patient documentation

· Making timely decisions regarding admissions, discharges, or referrals

· Following hospital policies and regulatory standards

Requirements

  

Indian Preference Exercised:    Please note that Prairie Band, LLC follows Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. This position is designated as a TIER 2, and we’ll give preference to individuals as required by Section 22-2-4(B).




· Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

· HCP’s must have completion of a nationally recognized postgraduate training program in Emergency Medicine or have completed of at least 2 years of a nationally recognized primary care specialty postgraduate training program (FP, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/Gyn., General Surgery) or one year of recognized postgraduate training in a general primary care specialty with board certification in Emergency Medicine. 

· Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.

· Valid state medical license to practice in any state in the USA.

· Possess and always maintain a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number.

· Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

· HCPs shall have a minimum of two years’ experience as a practicing provider in the last three years. Residency time counts as practicing experience. 

· Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Commitment to continuous education and staying current with medical advancements.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

· Must be a US citizen living primarily in the United States
