About the Role:

The Public Area Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of public spaces within a facility, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests and visitors. This position requires diligent attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing cleanliness issues promptly. The attendant is responsible for the upkeep of lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other communal areas, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and the facility's reputation. By performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, the Public Area Attendant supports the operational efficiency of the establishment. This role also involves interacting courteously with guests, responding to their needs, and providing assistance to enhance their experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to reach with hands and arms to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Basic interpersonal skills to interact courteously with guests and team members.
  • Capability to lift and carry heavy weights safely as part of daily duties.
  • Experience using cleaning supplies and equipment in a professional setting.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as required.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to identify cleanliness issues and safety hazards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospitality or facility maintenance roles.
  • Training in safety and sanitation standards.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a customer service environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough cleaning of public areas including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and elevators using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and other amenities in public restrooms and common areas.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or guest concerns to the appropriate department promptly.
  • Assist guests by providing directions, answering questions, and addressing minor concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to ensure continuous upkeep of public areas.
  • Lift and move heavy objects as needed to facilitate cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • All other duties as assigned
