About the Role

North Suffolk is looking for a Recovery Support Specialist to join our Residential Meridian House Team! The Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of individuals in a residential setting through advocacy, teaching and service planning, individual and group counseling.

This position is full-time; 36 hours per week. Schedule: Mon/Tues/Friday 2-10pm, Saturday 9am-9pm.  

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and/or participate with individuals, based on their needs in self-help skills, activities of daily living, socialization, leisure time and community integration.
  • Implement, teach and assist individuals with treatment plan goals and objective on a consistent basis.
  • Assist individuals in scheduling routine and preventative medical appointments, obtain and disseminate all reports to appropriate team members.
  • Attend all required trainings within prescribed timelines.
  • Transport individuals in agency vehicle as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

  • Education: 
    • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or CADAC preferred. 
  • Experience: 
    • A minimum of one year full-time substance abuse counseling experience.
    • If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years current continuous sobriety.
  • Skills/Other:
    • Must have a Massachusetts driver’s license. 
    • Must have the ability to complete CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
