Moose's Tooth, founded in 1996, serves pizza and Broken Tooth Brewing beer (with a side of tie-dye). Or experience the Bear Tooth without the movie by making yourself comfortable in our cafe-style dining area. The Bear Tooth Grill offers food fresh off the grill- such as Alaskan seafood, burgers, and southwestern inspired dishes. Open for brunch, lunch and dinner, the Grill also boasts a full-service bar, where you can choose from over 90 different choices in tequila, as well as a wide variety of award-winning craft beverages and cocktails. At Broken Tooth Brewing, variety is the name of the game and the brewers do not disappoint: in 2016 alone, they made 73 different craft beers! The brewery is truly the backbone of our businesses, serving up the liquid gold that keeps the people comin'.

JOB SUMMARY

Join the Bear Tooth as a Line Cook! We have skilled and entry-level positions, along with a variety of schedules available. 


As a Line Cook, your main focus is to prepare and create delicious, high-quality food that follows the Tooth Company's recipes and accommodates customer preferences. You will work closely with both front- and back-of-house teams to ensure our guests have a fantastic dining experience. Line Cooks must maintain a clean work environment and follow company hygiene and dress code policies to ensure food safety. Join us for a fun and fulfilling opportunity!


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and policy procedures
  2. Extensive knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  3. Read printed tickets carefully with attention to detail
  4. Accurately produce orders following recipe guidelines and ticket specifications
  5. Monitor temperature and cooking times while taking personal pride in every item delivered for service
  6. Operate kitchen equipment safely
  7. Proper handling and rotation of food according to food service codes
  8. Promptly report equipment and food quality issues to a Manager
  9. Communicate clearly and professionally with all staff in the restaurant
  10. Complete all opening, closing, and side duties
  11. Assist with dishwashing and other cleaning tasks as needed
  12. Work as a team with your fellow co-workers and treat each other with kindness and respect

Requirements

Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age or older with a Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card (or willing to obtain one). Experience is preferred; however, this is a teaching kitchen, and we are willing to take on the right candidate with a positive attitude in place of experience.

  1. Stand for the duration of the shift with minimal breaks
  2. Work in noisy, fast-paced environments with distracting conditions
  3. Lift and Carry 30+ lbs
  4. Work in hot and humid environments
  5. Have good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  6. Self-motivation and the ability to manage time and accomplish tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  7. Multitask and retain multiple called ticket items
  8. Basic knowledge of kitchen terminology and knife skills
