Description

Carrier Processing Equipment Group (CPEG) offers customers a comprehensive line of large industrial processing equipment for a wide variety of industries. We are looking for a Industrial Painter at our Mathiston, MS location to support the Sly division. This onsite position is responsible for coating engineered equipment according to the customer/engineering specifications and standards, which includes, surface prep and cleaning prior to coatings. Schedule

Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct all business in accordance with all company policies and safety practices.
  • Follow production procedures, job order paperwork, and customer specifications.
  • Complete all documentation required by paint procedures.
  • Use testing equipment to ensure proper coverage.
  • Understand how to use, clean, and maintain paint equipment.
  • Able to use ladders, manlifts other equipment to coat equipment from an elevated surface.
  • Apply paint and other industrial coatings to engineered equipment using a spray gun.
  • Apply paint and other industrial coatings to engineered equipment using a roller applicator.
  • Prep paint surface with blast media, as needed.
  • Prep paint surface with industrial cleaning solvents prior to coating.
  • Complete finished paint quality inspections.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean work area. 
  • Check, clean, and replace paint booth filter as required.

Peripheral Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with other departments, in both the written & oral forms
  • Aid in assembly of equipment.
  • Aid in product improvement.

Requirements

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand and/or walk around the plant for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Able to work varied hours and shifts if required.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Able to understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Able to wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE), and Operate equipment in a safe manner as trained.
  • Be committed to working safely, being mindful of one’s own safety and the safety of co-workers.
  • Able to understand and follow directions.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Able to read a tape measure and/or ruler in increments of 1/8”.
  • Understand and perform simple math.
  • Able to understand and calculate units of measure (oz, gal, sq. ft.).
  • Must be dedicated to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality of work.
  • Able to read and follow manufacturers' paint procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in an industrial setting, with a documented background applying spray coatings.
  • Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D.
