Senior Director, Assembly & Test (A&T) Material & Equipment

Role Summary:
The Senior Director, Assembly & Test (A&T) Material & Equipment Procurement leads the global sourcing and procurement strategy for materials and manufacturing equipment supporting internal factory operations. This role is responsible for ensuring cost competitiveness, supply continuity, supplier performance, and geographical resiliency, in close partnership with Factory Operations, Package Innovation, Test Engineering, Business Lines, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain.
The role provides strategic leadership across commodity strategy development, supplier negotiations, contracting, and supply risk management within a complex, dynamic, and fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a seasoned procurement leader with strong commercial acumen, a deep technical understanding of A&T processes, and a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes across a global organization.
Key Responsibilities
Commodity and Supplier Management:
- Develop and execute multi‑year commodity strategies using market intelligence, cost drivers, should‑cost analysis, and sourcing diversification, aligned with business, technology, and capacity needs.
- Own strategic supplier relationships, including selection, onboarding, and performance management through scorecards, QBRs, and structured governance.
- Drive cost reduction and working‑capital improvements through complex negotiations covering pricing, capacity, lead times, service levels, and long‑term agreements.
- Manage supplier escalations and supply‑continuity risks in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
Equipment Procurement and Capex Governance:
- Align equipment sourcing with technology roadmaps and factory requirements
- Lead RFx processes, technical and commercial evaluations, total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses, and sourcing decisions.
- Enforce Capex procurement governance, including competitive bidding, cost controls, and value realization.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate sourcing, capacity, geopolitical, and logistics risks.
- Implement resiliency measures, including alternate sourcing and safety‑stock strategies.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, audit standards, and ethical sourcing principles.
Leadership and Talent Development:
- Lead and develop a global team of procurement and commodity professionals.
- Build organizational capability in strategic sourcing, negotiation, analytics, and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive governance through regular reviews, councils, and executive reporting.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 15+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, including senior leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in A&T materials and capital equipment procurement strategy and supplier ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of cost drivers, total cost of ownership, and supply risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑influencing skills.
- Ability to bridge technical and business discussions effectively.
