Summary of position
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities that support equipment uptime, reliability, and safe manufacturing operations. This role serves as the hands-on execution arm of the maintenance organization, supporting the Maintenance Manager through equipment troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and downtime reduction initiatives.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of production equipment, filling lines, packaging systems, conveyors, utilities, and facility systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules and document completion in CMMS.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related failures.
- Support equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and line adjustments.
- Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Complete work orders accurately and maintain equipment history records.
- Support spare parts organization, inventory counts, and critical parts identification.
- Ensure compliance with LOTO, OSHA, GMP, and company safety requirements.
- Partner with Production and Maintenance leadership to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, deterioration, or failure risks before they impact production.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and production assets.
- Maintain maintenance tools, shop organization, and housekeeping standards.
- Support contractor activities and external service providers during maintenance projects.
- Participate in reliability improvement initiatives focused on uptime, MTTR, and MTBF improvements.
- Escalate recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts usage records, and downtime documentation.
- Provide technical support during production emergencies and critical downtime events.
