About the Role
Your mission
For our project focused on negotiation training and process support to resistance and liberation movements (RLMs) in transition in our Negotiation and Mediation Support Department, we are looking for a Project Manager (all genders).Overview of the position:
Hours: Part-time (12-14 hours per week)
Starting date: 01st September 2026
Duration: 1 year, with the possibility for extension
Location: Berlin, Germany and/or remote
Department: Conflict Transformation Research department
As a working student (all genders), you will be part of our team for conflict transformation research and work closely with the researchers. Your task is to support a sub-project realised by the Berghof Foundation as part of the research consortium ‘MOTRA. Monitoring and Transfer Platform Radicalisation’. The aim of MOTRA is to systematically monitor radicalisation trends in Germany and to strengthen the related knowledge transfer.
- Planning and conducting qualitative expert surveys (interviews and questionnaire surveys) among actors from science, security authorities and prevention practice.
- Analysing the collected data using qualitative research methods
- Documentation of project results and their dissemination within the consortium , at national and international conferences and in practice
- Coordination of research activities with the consortium , professional exchange and data integration
- Donor reporting
Your responsibilities
Your knowledge, experience & skills
- You are enrolled in a Master's degree programme and are studying a social science subject with solid knowledge in the fields of ‘radicalisation’ and ‘extremism’
- You are familiar with methods of qualitative data collection and analysis and have initial experience in conducting and analysing interviews and/or focus groups and in working with the MAXQDA analysis software (or comparable tools)
- Experience in working with online questionnaires is an advantage
