The Role
Create is the branded content studio for CNN International. We tell authentic stories that inspire and engage our audience. Through a data-informed process we deliver award-winning, relevant content to our audience of influential decision makers. At the heart of our content are inspiring human-led stories from around the world.
As a Content Strategist for Create, CNN International Commercial’s in-house brand studio, you will be responsible for the development of concepts and creative approaches for branded content campaigns for CNN’s advertising partners.
You will work closely with the Lead Content Strategist to generate proposals at a high creative and strategic standard, in alignment with the client’s KPIs and CNN’s brand integrity, as well as building on audience insights to enhance user engagement and underpin the strategy of your campaign plan. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of storytellers and content creators, including Designers, Producers, Writers and Project Managers.
The Daily
Concept Development
Developing proposal decks and writeups for creative campaigns
Researching stories and talent
Writing concepts in line with client and sales KPIs for branded campaigns
Mapping out content rollout
Strategy
Working with audience data and consumer insights, incorporating this into campaign ideas
Assessing suitable formats and amplification platforms
Conducting competitor analysis, monitoring industry trends (especially in branded media publisher space)
Communication
Attending internal Sales kick-off meetings, acting as a point of contact for concept development queries when required
Representing Create and CNN in a professional manner at prospective client meetings
Supporting in the presentation of campaign concept to Sales teams and clients
Analytics & Insights
Experience in assessing reports and using data to inform creative concepts
Sourcing useful sector specific reports (e.g., Luxury, Travel) and documenting these for the wider team
Areas of Accountability
You will write and edit multi-platform concept proposals, specifically working to:
Evaluate briefs and ideate campaigns to meet KPIs
Integrate content strategy into ideas
Analyze and add audience insights
Present ideas to internal stakeholders and external clients
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience of conceptualizing film, digital and social campaigns for international markets
Robust communication, research and writing skills
A solid understanding of scoping, high-level costing, and planning for content campaign
Familiarity in working to high editorial standards, working to guidelines
Proven ability in communicating concepts to internal and external stakeholders e.g. pitching directly to clients
Knowledge of producing native advertising or sponsored editorial content
Understanding of content channels and effective distribution systems (e.g., Social platforms, SEO, advertising formats)
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Omniture, Global Web Index, Slack
Previous experience in an international media publisher and/or international companies preferred
Location: Singapore (The role is hybrid and will involve 1-2 days in the office per week)
Contract: 6-month freelancer contract
This opportunity is for a freelance position. As a valued freelancer, you will collaborate with our dynamic team on a project-by-project basis. While this role does not include traditional employee benefits, it offers flexibility and the chance to contribute to exciting, innovative projects. All terms of engagement, including payment and scope of work, will be clearly outlined in a freelancer agreement.
