ROLE

The Value Steam Lead will coordinate the manufacturing resources to safely deliver the manufacturing plan to meet or exceed budget revenue, and meet KPI measurements of delivery performance, productivity, quality, WIP level and scrap.


QUALIFICATIONS

Recognised management qualification & technical qualification desirable


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage the line schedules and ensure correct prioritisation of schedule mix and minimum levels of WIP, working with planner and production control. 
  • To proactively manage any manufacturing deviations from target and to ensure where appropriate required escalation process is followed.
  • To manage team manning levels in line with S&OP and training plans, as well as ensuring effective man management, motivation and communication to the teams.
  • Ensure that all team members are conforming to all health and safety procedures and promote a culture of proactive safety on the shop floor.
  • Ensure that all team members are conforming to Quality procedures and promote a culture of Quality conformance on the shop floor.
  • Drive product and process improvements, through continuous improvement activities and implement these changes with the CI engineer.
  • To follow the appraisal process in conjunction with Team Leaders to ensure all team members receive appropriate feedback on performance and growth opportunities. Also to review staff on a quarterly basis and propose any appropriate band changes.
  • To maintain required standards of behaviour, following the formal disciplinary procedure where necessary up to and including dismissal.
  • Carry out all return to work interviews within required time scales.
  • To provide leadership, coaching and guidance to Team Leaders.
  • To maintain and improve 6S disciplines in the work area.
  • Ensure by audit that standard work is being completed by staff.
  • Report on and own governance of actions associated with the KPIs
  • Adherence to all Company policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality
  • Working positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity
