About the Role
The Candidate
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a committed junior professional who wants to build experience and grow in a commercial trading environment.You have affinity with commodities and you love to ensure a perfect operational process. You have a sharp eye for detail, but you are also able to keep oversight. The ideal candidate should be confident, but open to direct feedback and preferably have a comprehensive understanding of environmental commodities (carbon, (bio)fuels, (renewable) power or gas markets).The Role
The Mid-office Specialist is responsible for almost all aspects of trade business support. From client onboarding, transaction processing and drawing up contracts to trade invoicing, trade settlement and stock management. You keep track of all transactions and you are in control of the whole operational process. You (pro)actively contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art mid-office IT system. As the company grows, you will have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and grow into a key role within the mid-office team.The role will consist of, but not limited to, the following actions daily:
- Counterparty onboarding (incl. KYC/AML) and maintenance of client profiles, including documentation checks and status updates
- Prepare, validate, and manage trade contracts to ensure accurate and timely documentation across all counterparties.
- Handling payments
- Administrate data in internal systems
- Coordinate with front-office, finance teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely issue resolution.
- Participate in the process of continuous improvements in daily work
The Requirements
In order to be considered for the role you will meet the following:- 1-2 years’ job experience in a back office or administrative role
- Higher education
- Fluent in English
- Collaborator with a proactive approach and can-do mindset
- Detail oriented, focused on quality
- Curious and willing to take part in improvements
- Comfortable giving and asking for feedback to improve
