Hours: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Max) Monday-Thursday and 12:00PM - 6:00 PM on Fridays
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $17.75 - $20.00 per hour.
We are seeking a dedicated, responsible, and empathetic Daycare Coordinator to lead our after-school care program. In this role, you will ensure a safe, structured, and positive environment for students from the end of the school day until they are picked up by their adults.
The Daycare Coordinator reports directly to the Principal and plays a vital role in bridging the gap between the school day and home life by fostering positive peer relationships and supporting academic habits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attendance Management: Personally manage and oversee the secure FACTS daily sign-in and sign-out process for all participating students.
- Shift Schedule: Daily shift begins at 3:00 PM and concludes either 10 minutes after the final student is picked up (to allow for site cleaning and organization) or at 6:00 PM, whichever occurs earlier.
- Facility Care: Ensure the campus is clean, organized, and safely locked up at the end of each shift.
- Active Supervision: Maintain high visibility and alertness, including walking and monitoring students for extended periods during outdoor play.
- Academic Support: Provide a separate but visible environment for homework completion for self-sufficient students.
- Safety Standards: Maintain a secure environment, strictly adhering to school safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Restorative Conflict Resolution: Utilize a restorative approach to communication to guide students through peer conflicts, promoting empathy, accountability, and emotional growth (training and guidance offered from administration)
- Cross-Grade Integration: Facilitate positive, inclusive play and interaction among students of varying ages and grade levels, preventing bullying and exclusion.

Religious Qualifications
- Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
- Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
Professional Qualifications
- Core Requirement: Candidates must possess a valid First Aid and CPR Certification prior to their start date or attend the First Aid/CPR Trainings in August.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to develop rapport with students and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to walk, stand, and actively monitor students for extended periods outdoors, frequently in the sun and varying weather conditions.
- Reliability: Utmost punctuality and dependability regarding shift hours and student dismissal protocols.
- Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children in a camp, daycare, or school setting is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
To successfully meet the needs of the students in his/her care, the coordinator must:
- Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom. While standing the teacher will frequently hold objects they are working with or demonstrating
- Sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc.
- Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Walk on both even and uneven surfaces.
- Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending.
- Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity; may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at the class.
- Assist in moving children's desks and chairs to change the layout of the classroom to influence the learning situation. It is occasionally necessary to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 pounds from the office to classrooms.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to be inside the classroom. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the classroom and preschool environment, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, trainings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend trainings or workshops.
