About the Role

Description

Head Start Birth-5 program has an opening for a non-exempt full-time Infant Toddler Support Professional working 35 hours a week year-round. The Infant Toddler Support Professional is responsible for providing high-quality Professional Development Support for Early Head Start Teachers, ensuring completion of Infant/Toddler CDA, and will facilitate and assist with professional development planning for staff, both in individual and group settings, to strengthen developmentally appropriate strategies, empower staff, and strengthen the Head Start Birth-5 program. Provide guidance and support to staff with the implementation of curriculum/individual plans and ongoing assessments. Must complete duties and responsibilities as they relate to the Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations, CACFP Guidelines, and Head Start Birth-5 Forms and Procedures Manual. This position is funded by the Welborn Baptist Foundation Grant.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a CDA or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social, Family, or Human Services or correlated discipline is required; experience in working with adults in a teacher setting preferred. Obtain Infant/Toddler PD Specialist certification within 6 months of hire. Proficient in computer systems and functions, including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Internet, and email usage. LHDC may provide on the job training to obtain the appropriate credentials if necessary.


Must meet Head Start and Indiana Child Care Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical, and complete an annual T.B. test.
