About The Company
Kreios develops Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellites enabled by their proprietary Air-Breathing Electric Propulsion (ABEP) system, that makes it possible for satellites to operate at an altitude of around 200 kilometers from Earth, an altitude once considered impossible because of atmospheric drag. By “breathing” the atmosphere as fuel, Kreios’ satellites can stay aloft for years instead of days, unlocking a region of space with massive implications for Earth Observation and Telecommunications. VLEO satellites capture images with threefold the clarity of today’s constellations, enhancing everything from environmental monitoring and disaster response to critical infrastructure protection. Their proximity to Earth radically improves the link budget and allows broadband direct-to-device communications without bulky antennas, paving the way for truly global, resilient connectivity.
About the Role

Your mission

As an RF Power Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the development of Kreios Space's electric propulsion systems for Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO).
Your mission will be to support the development, integration, and validation of the RF power system that enables plasma generation and sustainment in our air-breathing electric propulsion technology.
You will work on the architecture and performance of RF generators, matching networks, RF power delivery chains and their interaction with plasma loads. You will also serve as the primary technical interface with external suppliers responsible for the development of the Power Processing Unit (PPU), ensuring alignment with system requirements and supporting integration, testing and verification activities.
You will work closely with propulsion, plasma physics, avionics and systems engineering teams in a highly hands-on environment, helping transform cutting-edge plasma propulsion concepts into robust flight hardware.

Your profile

Specific Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of RF engineering fundamentals, including power transmission, impedance matching and RF system characterization
  • Experience with RF power generation and delivery systems
  • Knowledge of matching networks and RF coupling techniques for complex or dynamic loads
  • Experience working with RF generators, amplifiers and high-power RF hardware
  • Experience with High Voltage systems and associated safety requirements
  • Experience with MOSFET-based switching circuits
  • Ability to review electrical schematics, technical documentation and supplier designs
  • Experience defining and executing test campaigns and analyzing experimental data
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB or similar)
Nice to Have
  • Understanding of plasma-RF interactions or willingness to develop expertise in this area
  • Electric propulsion systems
  • Plasma sources or plasma processing equipment
  • RF plasma generation systems
  • Space hardware development
  • EMC/EMI engineering
  • ECSS standards
  • Supplier management and technical coordination
  • Reliability, FMEA and failure investigations

Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset and ability to understand interactions across complex subsystems
  • Proactive and hands-on approach to solving technical challenges
  • Methodical and detail-oriented, particularly when working with high-voltage equipment
  • Comfortable collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills, capable of challenging suppliers constructively and driving technical discussions
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Positive attitude, constructive sense of humor and ability to contribute to a healthy and enjoyable work environment

Why us?

  • Work on real space hardware that will fly in orbit, not just simulations or papers
  • Be part of a fast-growing European space startup shaping the future of sustainable space operations
  • Take ownership of a critical subsystem at the heart of our propulsion technology
  • Help build Kreios Space's internal expertise in high-voltage power electronics and electric propulsion
  • Join a highly collaborative, respectful and supportive team where knowledge is shared openly
  • Enjoy a great work environment that values trust, autonomy, learning and good energy at work
  • Strong technical growth path in a scaling company, where your work has visible impact and you actively help shape both the technology and the way we work

About us

We are leading the development of the first air-breathing electric propulsion (ABEP) system designed specifically for Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO). This revolutionary engine enables satellites to orbit between 150 and 300 km by capturing and using atmospheric particles as propellant.
By eliminating the need to carry fuel onboard, we drastically increase efficiency and overcome the main challenge of atmospheric drag in VLEO. This disruptive technology opens the door to an entirely new generation of space services, from high-resolution Earth observation to near real-time communications.
To achieve it, we rely on a team of professionals who are passionate, visionary, and committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible. If you share this passion and want to leave your mark on the future of the space industry, we want to meet you.
