Description
The Senior Business Development Representative is responsible for driving Membership and checking account growth within an assigned branch footprint by, generating new Member relationships, and expanding engagement with Community Business Partners (CBPs), Preferred Partners (PPs), schools, and other strategic partners. This role is an individual contributor with no people- management responsibilities, focused on achieving individual production goals. Additionally, the Senior Business Development Representative supports team performance through operational excellence, including account audit and compliance, reporting, process improvement, and Member service, while serving as a liaison between partners, branches, and internal teams to drive growth and ensure a seamless Member experience.

Business Hours
Monday – Friday 8:30AM – 5:30PM & Saturday 8:30AM - 1:30PM*
*Due to the nature of the role, this position will require schedule flexibility to participate in events during business hours, including mornings, evenings, and on weekends. This is hybrid-remote position with the opportunity to work in-office, off-site and working from home or based on business needs.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years or equivalent work experience in business development within a banking or credit union environment. Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Experience in facilitation live and recorded financial workshops.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish to serve our Spanish speaking Members while conducting their banking business.
Driving and Insurance Coverage Requirements
This role requires driving and must meet and maintain the following requirements:
- Hold a valid CA state driver’s license in good standing that is not actively suspended, revoked, or restricted.
- Have reliable personal transportation. Use of any means of public transportation or ridesharing services will not satisfy this requirement.
- Must maintain state liability auto insurance coverage with a minimum of 30/60/15 limits on the vehicle that will be used for work.
- Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge in all applicable MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, attention to detail, and professional persistence are required.
- Works successfully, both independently through self-motivation and within a team environment.
- Exercises confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of the financial services market.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Maintains a dependable means of transportation for frequent local travel, including evening and weekend work.
- Computer literate, ability to utilize CU Force software.
- Strong time management skills.
- Automobile insurance that includes minimum liability coverage as required by state law
- Effectively creates and delivers oral presentations to small, mid, and large groups.
- Strong sales background with demonstrated proven results.
- Thorough knowledge of CU SoCal financial products and services.
- Thorough and accurate record keeping skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, attract and establish new Preferred Partner relationships as an exclusive credit union benefit to company employees, and schedules on-site visits with the company.
- Achieves assigned sales and Membership goals by driving new Membership growth, opening checking accounts, and originating loan applications while consistently meeting performance targets.
- Conducts BD Membership audits in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Assists Members with complex and escalated Member requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Promotes and sells CU SoCal products and services, leveraging strong interpersonal and sales skills to deepen Member relationships, increase product penetration, and contribute to overall financial growth.
- Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key partner personnel through regular communication, on-site visits, and multi-channel engagement (email, phone, in-person) to support Member needs and reinforce CU SoCal’s value as an exclusive employee benefit.
- Provides daily and monthly productions stats for the team and provides direct production reports to management.
- Supports new team member onboarding through role-related training.
- Maintain current knowledge of credit union products, services, and campaigns to effectively recommend solutions, support Member needs, and drive business growth with business and community partners.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with local business partners as well as internal team members.
- Complete understanding and active application of the C.A.R.E.4 Guide expectations and the Brand Communication Standards accountability philosophy.
- Must be able to work a flexible hybrid schedule based on business and operational requirements. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and other non-standard business hours may be required.

We support Pay Transparency and are a pay-for-performance organization that benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of market data.
Pay Scale: Min: $30.11 / Mid: $38.45 / Max: $45.59 * an hour
*Actual compensation will be based on geographical location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
