About The Company
Community Action Partnership of Strafford County is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization established in 1965 under the provisions of the Equal Opportunity Act of 1964. We work with community, state and federal partners to assist children, families, low-income and elderly residents with their efforts to become or remain financially and socially independent through a variety of coordinated programs. Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food, education, child care, utilities assistance, transportation, shelter and access to other services.
About the Role
 
 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Energy Auditor is a key technical role focused on reducing energy burdens for low-income households. You will conduct comprehensive home assessments, diagnose energy inefficiencies, and manage a pipeline of weatherization projects from initial audit to final inspection. This role requires a blend of technical building science, physical stamina, and compassionate client education.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • BPI Building Analyst certification or the ability to obtain one through our training program within 120 days
  • Be able to climb ladders; work in attics and other confined areas
  • Mid-level computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Be able to use a phone, computer and other office equipment
  • Be able to work outside in all weather
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs., perform some physical labor

 

MEASURABLE RESPONSIBILITIES (KPIs)

  1. Audit Volume: Complete and submit at least one (1) comprehensive weatherization work order per week to maintain a steady production pipeline.
  2. Project Volume: Complete a minimum of 4 weatherization projects monthly.
  3. Accuracy & Compliance: Achieve a 95% "First-Pass" rate on final inspections, ensuring all subcontracted and crew work meets NH Weatherization Field Guide and SWS standards.
  4. Data Integrity: Maintain 98% real-time accuracy of data input within energy audit reports and energy modeling software (TREAT/ECOS/COMPASS), ensuring all photo documentation CAZ testing results and Redcalc findings are uploaded within 48 hours of site visits.
  5. Savings-to-Investment Ratio (SIR): Maintain an overall SIR greater than 1 on all weatherization projects.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnostic Testing: Perform blower door, CAZ, heating system, and spillage testing to identify air leakage and combustion safety issues.
  • Project Management: Specify work scopes for subcontractors (primarily HVAC) and monitor progress through in-process and final inspections.
  • Safety Implementation: Install CO and smoke detectors during audits and identify immediate "no-heat" or hazardous conditions.
  • Administrative Oversight: Request timely Environmental Reviews and ensure all file paperwork (BTDIS, HEA, SHIPO) is complete and accurate.
  • Job Prioritization: Identify and rank high-value weatherization projects based on energy burden, demographics, and funding opportunities (WAP, CDBG).
  • Energy Auditing: Conduct comprehensive home energy audits, including diagnostic testing (blower door, CAZ, infrared) and safety inspections, in compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain detailed project files and photo documentation, ensuring all technical forms (BTDIS, HEA, SHIPO) are accurate and meet agency requirements.
  • Client Education: Provide homeowners with guidance on energy conservation, electric base load usage, and home health and safety.
  • Project Coordination: Develop detailed work orders and secure necessary approvals and environmental reviews from municipal partners.
  • Field Supervision: Schedule and supervise crews and subcontractors, providing technical guidance and hands-on assistance during the implementation of weatherization measures.
  • Quality Control: Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify the quality of work, monitor contractor invoices for accuracy, and ensure all measures meet safety protocols.
  • Equipment & Training: Maintain agency vehicles and tools while mentoring junior staff and attending mandatory industry training.

EMPLOYMENT SCREENING
