Job Summary
We are seeking a 3rd Feeder to join our Pressroom team. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced Press Operators to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of our Komori sheetfed presses while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the First Pressman with press setup, make-ready, and production activities.
- Read and interpret job tickets and production work instructions.
- Prepare paper loads and position them correctly for production.
- Set up and operate the press feed section.
- Perform make-ready procedures for color and registration according to sg360° standard operating procedures.
- Monitor press performance and assist with roller replacements, adjustments, and other mechanical tasks.
- Assist with press troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment repairs.
- Train and support press helpers on press systems and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Stay current on printing technology and industry best practices.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of pressroom experience.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Feeder or Second Pressman preferred.
- Experience with multi-color 40” press with doating unit and UV print a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read and follow production instructions and job tickets.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Good color vision for evaluating proofs and printed sheets.
- General understanding of prepress, bindery, die-cutting, and finishing operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to work any shift, including evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
