WORKFORCE MANAGER

Description
ABOUT METROCREST SERVICES
Metrocrest Services provides hope and builds pathways to economic mobility for neighbors across the north Dallas area. We operate a whole-household, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)-aligned model organized around five pillars: Income, Health & Food, Workforce, Education/Training, and Housing. We call the people we serve “Neighbors” because they are members of our community, not cases to be managed, and every team member is expected to bring dignity, curiosity, and a whole-household perspective to their work.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Workforce Manager helps neighbors build meaningful pathways to employment, career growth, and long-term economic stability. In this role, you'll coach neighbors, cultivate partnerships with local employers, and connect people to education, training, and career opportunities aligned with their goals, bringing labor market knowledge, strategic thinking, and a strengths-based approach to every interaction. This role primarily works 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs.
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Workforce Specialists, setting direction and supporting their professional growth
- Build and maintain employer partnerships — developing hiring pipelines, coordinating job fairs, and negotiating on-the-job training opportunities
- Design and oversee job readiness programming, including workshops, one-on-one coaching, and structured curricula
- Connect neighbors to skills training and credentialing programs aligned with in-demand industries
- Track workforce outcomes in Salesforce and report program data, metrics, and results to leadership
- Collaborate across program pillars so employment goals are embedded in each neighbor's whole-household coaching plan
- Represent Metrocrest in workforce development coalitions and employer engagement networks
WHO YOU ARE
- Culturally humble, with an equity-minded approach to the systemic barriers neighbors face and the ability to hold empathy and accountability at once
- Patient and persistent; understands that workforce readiness is a pathway, not a single event, and celebrates incremental progress alongside employment placement outcomes
- Energetic and connector-minded; builds employer relationships not as transactions but as long-term partnerships that benefit both neighbors and the business community
- Energetic about the work and understands that passion and professionalism are not mutually exclusive in this role
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Business, Workforce Development, or a related field
- 5–8 years of experience in workforce or career development within a nonprofit, social service, or community-based setting
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience leading a workforce or related program team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce (or a comparable case management system), and virtual collaboration tools
- Strong project management skills and the ability to execute programs with limited supervision
PREFERRED
- Experience with sector-based workforce development, employer partnership development, or on-the-job training design
- Familiarity with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Workforce Solutions, or a comparable public workforce system
- Experience with SDOH-aligned program models and whole-household assessment frameworks
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
