Job Description

As Queensland prepares for one of the world's largest sporting events, we're looking for an experienced Principal / Senior Systems Engineer – Requirements & Integration to play a key role in delivering complex, multi-venue infrastructure programs.

Working as part of our Systems Assurance team, you'll provide technical leadership across systems engineering activities, ensuring requirements and interfaces are effectively managed from concept through to operational readiness. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams across transport, technology, infrastructure and operations, helping integrate complex systems that support major programs across nationally significant infrastructure projects.

This is an opportunity to apply your expertise on projects where systems integration, stakeholder collaboration and technical governance are critical to successful delivery.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Lead requirements management and systems engineering activities across complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Administer and govern IBM DOORS, ensuring robust requirements management, configuration control and end-to-end traceability.
  • Define and manage interfaces across infrastructure, technology and operational systems.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, technical reviews and integration forums with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain requirements frameworks, standards and governance processes aligned with industry best practice.
  • Drive verification and validation (V&V), configuration management and change control activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage integration risks, supporting assurance reviews and program readiness activities.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of systems engineering capability across the business.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in Systems Engineering across complex infrastructure, transport, ICT, defence or major programs.
  • Advanced experience administering and managing IBM DOORS, including governance, configuration, baselining and traceability.
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, interface management, verification and validation, and configuration management.
  • Experience working within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach with a passion for mentoring and developing others.

Experience supporting major events, large-scale integration programs or multi-venue environments will be highly regarded.
