POSITION PURPOSE
The Assistant Banking Center Manager is responsible for ensuring that the goals of the branch are met by providing excellent customer service in a team building atmosphere. Typical responsibilities include opening new accounts, assisting customers and lenders, and providing operational support to the Banking Center Manager. The ABCM is also responsible for managing operations in the absence of the Banking Center Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Promote and cross-sell the Bank’s products and services by assisting customers in their selection to meet their financial needs.
- Perform banking center activities such as opening new accounts, safe deposit duties, stop payment requests, check recorders, and wire transfer requests.
- Monitor cash limits for the tellers, vault, ATM, and total office.
- Monitor reports to ensure that MIL and CTR reporting is completed timely and accurately, assures transmission of reports to the Compliance Department.
- Ensure ATM is balanced, and the proper cash supply is within limits.
- Review and monitor deposit account exceptions and ensure exceptions are cleared in a timely manner. Participate in branch audits on established schedule.
- Review NSF and overdraft reports for assigned customer portfolios; approves or declines such exceptions within approved limits.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the financial industry and support staff development and growth.
- Process moderately complex customer transactions, problems, or inquiries and assume responsibility in absence of Banking Center Manager.
- Consistently maintains exceptions at less than 30 days.
- Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
SECONDARY DUTIES
- At the direction of the Banking Center Manager, the Assistant Banking Center Manager may support some or all the following activities:
- Approve teller sheets to ensure balancing, reporting and cash limits are within approved limits.
- Perform alarm testing and 911 testing in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide leadership, training, and/or support to staff, leads team meetings.
- Approve timecards by payroll deadlines.
- The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management.

- Banking center personnel are well trained and efficient, and their activities well-coordinated.
- Required reports and records are accurate and timely.
- Management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
- Suggestions are provided for improved efficiency or effectiveness in operations.
- Good working relationships exist with banking center personnel. Assistance is provided as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position is responsible for supervision of retail staff in the absence of the Banking Center Manager. The Assistant Banking Center Manager is expected to provide leadership, training, and support to less experienced staff members
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Associate degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
Required Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Bank services and products.
Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with Branch functions, policies, and procedures.
Experience Required: Minimum three years’ related experience in a financial institution, with a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.
Well organized.
Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.
Attention to detail.
Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
