Position Summary
The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI exams, ensures patient safety and comfort, and collaborates with radiologists and care teams to support accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Imaging
- Perform MRI exams independently using appropriate protocols.
- Evaluate image quality and repeat scans as needed.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients for procedures.
- Complete required documentation and coordinate results with care teams.
- Cross-train on weight-bearing CT equipment as needed.
Patient Care
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and clear communication.
- Assist patients safely before, during, and after exams.
- Support quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow MRI safety standards, ACR guidelines, and infection control practices.
- Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs.
- Complete required compliance and safety training.
Department Support
- Cross-train and assist team members as needed.
- Maintain supplies and equipment.
- Travel between Panorama locations when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Current ARRT MRI Certification required; must maintain certifications and participate in ongoing professional development.
- 1–2 years of orthopedic MRI experience preferred.
- Knowledge of MRI principles, safety practices, anatomy, physiology, and imaging protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, HIPAA, and OSHA requirements.
- Strong computer, communication, patient care, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible schedule, including potential evening and weekend shifts.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Assist patients with positioning, transfers, and mobility as needed.
- Use critical thinking and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions, including daily use of Microsoft Office applications.
