What you'll do:
As a Trading Associate based in Hong Kong, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth within the emerging markets sector. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve engaging in market making activities, implementing strategic directives from management, and striving for profit targets through collaborative trading efforts. You will provide clients with fast pricing solutions alongside timely market analysis, ensuring their needs are met with sensitivity and professionalism. Supporting desk heads with ad-hoc tasks will be integral to your role, as will reporting daily business activities transparently. Working closely with marketing teams to boost sales volume and cooperating with middle and back office departments to optimise operations will be key aspects of your routine. Managing risk exposure responsibly under internal guidelines will ensure both personal and organisational success. Success in this role requires a nurturing attitude towards teamwork, an understanding of client needs, and a commitment to communal achievement.
- Promote trading business by engaging in market making activities within the emerging markets sector, ensuring strategies from management are effectively implemented.

- Provide fast and competitive pricing for clients while delivering timely market information, analysis, and insights to support their decision-making processes.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required by desk head or senior colleagues, demonstrating your commitment to supporting the team’s objectives.
- Report daily business activities directly to the head of trading, ensuring transparency and open communication within the department.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing department to enhance sales volume through shared goals and mutual support.
- Work hand-in-hand with middle and back office teams to streamline operational processes, fostering interdepartmental cooperation.
- Control and manage both group-wide and personal risk exposure under internal policies and regulatory limits, prioritising responsible trading practices.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Trading Associate position brings substantial experience from the FX market—ideally between three to five years—alongside deep knowledge of CNH and HKD markets. Familiarity with NDFs and options will further strengthen your candidacy. Your ability to optimise profitability through sensitive risk management sets you apart as someone who understands both technical requirements and communal responsibility. You thrive on building mutual relationships across departments—marketing, middle office, back office—and externally with clients. Your empathetic approach ensures that client needs are met promptly while maintaining honesty in all communications. - Possess 3-5 years of experience in the foreign exchange market, demonstrating dependability through proven track record.
- Show specialist knowledge in CNH (Chinese Yuan Offshore) and HKD (Hong Kong Dollar) markets; familiarity with NDF (Non-Deliverable Forward) contracts and options is highly desirable.
- Optimise profitability through effective market-making activities while managing risk sensitively within established limits.
- Utilise specialist knowledge to contribute meaningfully to trading business development initiatives.
- Support desk head and senior colleagues on ad-hoc tasks with enthusiasm for communal success.
- Maintain mutual relationships with internal teams such as marketing, middle office, back office as well as external parties including clients; demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills.
- Display empathy when providing market information or analysis to clients; respond promptly to their needs with warmth.
- Show commitment to ongoing learning by participating actively in training opportunities provided by the organisation.
