Soldering Technician

Are you someone who enjoys building things, working with your hands, and taking pride in producing high-quality work? Wasik Associates is looking for a Soldering Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you'll assemble, solder, wire, test, and inspect electronic components and subassemblies that are used in our world-class electron beam processing equipment.
Working on our Production Team, you'll use engineering drawings and schematics to build precision assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure every product meets our high standards for quality and performance. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Gluing assemblies in a jig
- Coordinate weekly with production to meet customer and inventory demands.
- Read prints, schematics, diagrams to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
- Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
- Cleaning components using solvents and Ultra Sonic Cleaner.
- Assemble electronic components on Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
- Assemble and Wire panels for electrical enclosures.
- Solder PCB assemblies using through Hole and Surface mount soldering methods.
- Solder electronic components for assemblies.
- Inspect, test and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications and customer order requirements.
Requirements
- Assembly – Assemble equipment, sub-assemblies
- Soldering though hole, Surface mount and wires.
- Quality Control – conduct tests and inspections of products to evaluate quality or performance
- Equipment Selection – determine the kind of tools and equipment necessary to perform a specific task
- Troubleshooting – Determine cause of operating errors and deciding corrective action
- Attention to detail and following directions
Education/Experience:
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or with groups
- 3-5 years’ experience in some form of assembly, manufacturing or technician type work is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
