Projects Associate - Melbourne

A specialist role at the intersection of construction and regulatory compliance.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for a lawyer with experience in, or a strong interest in, project delivery, disputes and regulatory compliance (3-5 PQE) to join our leading Projects team in Melbourne.
Working alongside experienced construction and projects lawyers, you'll advise on major commercial and infrastructure projects across Australia.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients on matters ranging from commercial and residential construction developments to large-scale infrastructure projects, providing strategic advice on regulatory compliance, contractual issues, risk management and dispute avoidance.
Whether your experience is in disputes and litigation, construction law, or public law, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your expertise and play a key role in a growing and dynamic practice.
As part of our highly regarded Projects team, you will:
Advise clients on compliance with building legislation, statutory processes, regulatory proceedings and appeals in the construction and infrastructure sectors
Advise on project strategy, contract administration, and contractual claims
Support clients across contentious and non-contentious matters, including civil litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution
Work closely with senior lawyers on high-profile and complex matters
Build strong relationships with leading clients across Australia and APAC
Develop your technical and commercial skills through exposure to market-leading work
About you
We're looking for a commercially minded lawyer who is curious, collaborative, and excited by the opportunity to work on industry-defining projects.
You will bring:
Australian legal qualifications and 3-5 years' post-qualification experience
Experience in civil litigation, and/or public law, ideally with exposure to the construction or infrastructure sectors
Strong drafting, analytical, and research skills with keen attention to detail
Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
A genuine interest in working closely with clients to solve complex challenges
Strong academic qualifications, enthusiasm, and a commitment to ongoing professional development
