About The Company
Founded by David Poms more than 35 years ago, Poms & Associates is an independent insurance brokerage and risk management firm built on a simple but powerful idea: clients deserve more than insurance placement, they deserve a true partner in protecting their people, operations, assets, and future. David recognized early on that the most effective insurance strategy starts long before a policy is placed or a claim occurs. His commitment to risk control and loss prevention has become a defining part of the Poms approach and one of the ways we continue to stand apart from other firms. Today, Poms serves organizations across a wide range of industries, including nonprofits and social services, public entities, education, manufacturing, construction, real estate, transportation, restoration, and more. Our team combines insurance expertise with hands-on risk control services that help clients identify exposures, reduce losses, strengthen safety practices, and improve long-term outcomes. At Poms & Associates, risk control is not an add-on or afterthought. It is central to the way we serve our clients. Through safety assessments, training, claims advocacy, regulatory guidance, and tailored risk management strategies, we help organizations move beyond simply buying insurance and toward building safer, more resilient operations. As part of our continued commitment to prevention, education, and safer communities, Poms & Associates recently formed POPS, Pacific Ocean Production Studios, a subsidiary created to confront systemic issues surrounding child sexual abuse, exploitation, and grooming on school campuses and in youth organizations. As a boutique firm with national capabilities, Poms & Associates combines personal attention, technical expertise, market access, and risk management resources to support sophisticated organizations. At our core, we are a relationship-driven firm committed to helping clients move forward with clarity, confidence, and resilience.
