Are you a pharmacist looking for an opportunity to provide meaningful patient care while enjoying a consistent outpatient schedule? Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services (ESSS), in partnership with Indian Health Service (IHS), is seeking an experienced Outpatient Pharmacist to support Tsaile Health Center in Tsaile, Arizona.
This contract opportunity allows you to use your pharmacy expertise to support medication safety, patient education, and quality healthcare services for the local Tribal community. You will work alongside a dedicated healthcare team in an outpatient setting while enjoying a predictable Monday–Friday schedule, no weekend or holiday requirements, and the professional autonomy that comes with serving an important healthcare mission.
Position Details
Start Date: July/August 2026 (credentialing and federal clearance may take up to 90 days)
Schedule: Full-time | Day Shift
Hours: Typically 40 hours per week | Outpatient Only | Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
Weekends/Holidays: No weekends and no holidays
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Contract Length: Up to 1 year with extension options

Position Overview
The Outpatient Pharmacist will provide pharmaceutical services focused on medication safety, patient education, and collaborative outpatient care within the Tsaile Health Center. This role works closely with healthcare providers and clinical staff to ensure safe medication management and support positive patient outcomes within the Tribal healthcare setting.
What You'll Do
- Dispense medications accurately and in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions
- Counsel patients regarding medication usage, side effects, dosing instructions, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Monitor medication therapies and provide clinical recommendations when appropriate
- Document patient care activities accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Support quality, patient-centered care within an outpatient Tribal healthcare environment

Additional Details
- Outpatient pharmacy setting only

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services follows an Indian Preference Policy. Preference is given to qualified Native American candidates in accordance with applicable laws.
Legally enrolled Eastern Shawnee Tribal Members shall receive preference if the tribal member’s experience, qualifications, training, and all other criteria included in the job posting are equal. Tribal Members or Citizens of other Federally Recognized Tribes shall receive second preference following the same criteria, followed by all other applicants.

Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacy degree
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory
- Previous outpatient or ambulatory pharmacy experience preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of pharmacist experience (outpatient or hospital preferred)
- Current BLS certification (preferred)
- Strong clinical knowledge and communication skills
- Experience with EHR systems
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to pass a federal security clearance
- Required immunizations must be up to date
