Summary
As a Pediatrician, the physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents within the community. Key duties include conducting physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and administering vaccinations. The Pediatrician monitors growth and development, provides guidance on nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits, and addresses questions or concerns from parents or guardians. Collaboration with nurses, social workers, specialists, and other healthcare professionals is essential to deliver holistic care. The role may also involve participation in community outreach programs, health education initiatives, and preventive care efforts to promote the overall well-being of children. Strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to pediatric medicine are critical for success in this position.
General Accountabilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of infants, children, and adolescents, and monitor growth and developmental milestones.
- Diagnose and manage common pediatric illnesses and injuries, including prescribing medications and developing treatment plans.
- Administer vaccinations, preventive care services, and order or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work, X-rays, and electrocardiograms.
- Educate parents or guardians on child health, nutrition, safety, disease prevention, and treatment compliance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including nurses, specialists, and social workers, to coordinate patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records and documentation.
- Address questions and concerns from parents or guardians regarding their child’s health and care.
- Participate in community outreach programs, health education initiatives, and preventive care efforts to promote child well-being.
- Stay current on medical advancements, best practices, and clinical guidelines in pediatric care.
Requirements
Job Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
- State medical license to practice as a pediatrician.
- Board certification in pediatrics (or board eligible)
- Residency training in pediatrics.
- 3 years of experience as a Pediatrician
- FQHC is a plus.
Skills
- Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Skills: Language
- Bilingual-English/Spanish is required.
Physical Requirement
- Physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 25 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time is required.
