Production Technologist

Your mission
This role sits at the intersection of five jobs in one: broadcast engineer, solutions architect, pre-sales engineer, field engineer, and trainer. We're not looking for someone who fits neatly into one box. We're looking for someone who can wear all these hats—and switch between them without missing a beat. If there's a hat you haven't worn before, be curious to see how it suits you.
You know news. Not broadcast production in general—news specifically. The pace of a newsroom. The pressure of a rundown ten minutes before air. How editorial teams think under deadline.
As Production Technologist at Cuez, you'll be the technical bridge between our product and the productions that run on it—news first and foremost, but also sports, talk shows, and live events across the broadcast world.
This role sits close to the biggest broadcasters in the world. You'll travel frequently, mainly across the US, to be where production happens. Because you'll work closely with our HQ in Belgium, you'll need to be based on the US East Coast so there's real overlap with our business hours.
Responsibilities
Solution design
Analyze client workflows. Define architecture and rollout phases. Turn business needs into concrete milestones.
Pre-sales support
Lead technical demos for editorial and engineering decision-makers. Answer the hard questions during the sales cycle. Support RFPs and RFIs.
Field engineering
Get hands-on during installs and go-lives. Solve problems on-site, under pressure, in real time.
Broadcast & news engineering
Bring deep knowledge of newsroom systems, rundowns, and automated workflows. Know your way around: iNews, ENPS, SMPTE-2110, EVS, vMix, Singular, AMPP.
Onboarding ownership
Own the onboarding of US customers end-to-end. If something stalls, flag it, pull in the dev team, and follow up until the customer is live—on time.
Training & enablement
Teach editorial and technical teams how to get the most out of Automator. Build the confidence that turns new users into power users.
Feedback loop
Bring what you learn on the ground back to product and engineering. Make sure field insights shape what we build next.
Your profile
- Based on the US East Coast or Midwest (required)
- Newsroom experience: worked in a newsroom or news control room; know iNews or ENPS from the inside

- Strong listener: understand how editorial teams think and translate that into technical decisions
- Technically savvy: control room infrastructure, automation systems, and broadcast IP workflows are second nature
- Ownership mindset: if an onboarding stalls, you chase it down, involve the right people, and get it to done—before the deadline
- Follow-through: after leaving a station, you follow up until you know it’s working
- Curious builder: investigate, tinker, and build in your own time (e.g., AI, vMix, home automation)
- Collaborative: think with the customer and with the Cuez team
- Proactive: steer customers in the right direction, even before they ask
- Adaptable and coachable: adjust to how we work, fast
- Available full-time to onboard US customers
- Willing to travel frequently, mainly in the US
