About the Role

At Julius Baer, we celebrate and value the individual qualities you bring, enabling you to be impactful, to be entrepreneurial, to be empowered, and to create value beyond wealth. Let’s shape the future of wealth management together.

We seek a highly skilled Wealth Planner to join Julius Baer (JB) Wealth Planning based in Zurich, Switzerland. Wealth Planning, a unit of Global Products & Solutions (GPS), is a core offering of the JB Group and provides specialist wealth planning to support Relationship Managers (RMs) in acquiring, maintaining, and retaining private client relationships. Your main responsibility will be to provide wealth planning guidance and introduce wealth planning products and solutions to meet the needs of our private clients.

The successful candidate will stand out for their ability to deliver excellence in two key areas. The first is as subject matter expert in Latin American markets where agility in wealth planning topics including philanthropy, relocation, succession planning, taxation and wealth structuring will be needed. (Proven experience in Mexico, but not only, will be a distinct advantage.) The second is in relation to our key client and ultra-high net worth segment, which is more universal and less country-specific in nature. Here, experience in family governance topics and harmonizing these with the wealth structures needed will distinguish the ideal profile.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Provide strategic wealth planning guidance to RMs and their clients, actively coordinating the wealth planning process by leveraging internal and external experts as needed
  • Implement suitable solutions, such as private insurance, private trusts, private foundations or private companies in collaboration with internal and external providers
  • Serve as a subject matter specialist in client-facing interactions, following the JB Advisory Process which includes fact-finding, analysis, discussion of principles, evaluation of concepts, proposal of solutions/services, implementation and follow-up
  • Support the Wealth Planning Key Clients & Family Office Services (FOS) Team in delivering services to UHNW prospects and clients, by applying WP’s offering, with focus on Family Roadmap, Family Purpose (including Philanthropy Advisory) and Family Governance, amongst others
  • Stay up to date with industry, legal, regulatory and taxation changes, and inform clients and internal stakeholders accordingly
  • Support RMs and other stakeholders by providing training, knowledge transfer and assistance on wealth planning topics and services/products

YOUR PROFILE

Professional Qualifications & Education

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in relevant financial services sectors or comparable private client practices (e.g. private bank, legal practice, tax advisor, fiduciary company)
  • University degree in Law (a Latin American country qualification), master in tax or a related field is a must. Additional qualifications on family governance and experience in servicing private clients would be of advantage. Additional courses linked to the area of expertise, such as STEP accreditation, are preferred

Experience & Competencies

  • Client-centric approach. Passion for wealth planning advice for private HNW and UHNW individuals
  • Engaging personality with the ability to work effectively with high-net-worth clients, ensuring their needs and objectives are met
  • Travel to win, maintain and retain Clients will be required on an ad hoc basis, including to Latin America
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong work ethic, being a team player and collaborating with different stakeholders as part of an international team of wealth planning professionals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a domestic and global team, both in person and in virtual formats
  • Self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Spanish native speaker. Fluent in English. Additional European language skills, including German are a distinct advantage
