About the Role

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Transport and Infrastructure business as a Driver Operator based in Taumarunui.

In this role, you will support our Road Construction and Maintenance crews by operating Class 5 vehicles and plant equipment while assisting with the delivery of maintenance and operational activities across the network. You will be responsible for ensuring plant and equipment are operated, maintained, and presented in a safe, professional, and efficient manner, while contributing to high-quality outcomes for our customers and communities.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside the crew, supporting day-to-day operations, completing inspections and documentation, and promoting a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility.


Ngā pūkenga matua | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

•    Full Class 5 Driver Licence
•    Proven ability to safely operate heavy vehicles and plant equipment
•    Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental, and Zero Harm practices
•    Good record-keeping and reporting skills, including experience using Actuate or similar systems
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•    Strong communication skills and willingness to assist across a variety of operational tasks

Highly desirable:

•    Truck & Trailer experience
•    Civil construction, road maintenance, or transport industry experience
•    WTR endorsements
