Job Summary
This role contributes to the success of Starbucks Asia Pacific by partnering with leaders across the region to accelerate growth through data-driven insights, strategic planning, and enterprise-wide initiatives. As part of the Asia Pacific Strategy & Insights team, this position leads regional planning processes, shapes and drives strategic priorities and growth initiatives, and builds commercial and strategic capabilities across the organization.

Supporting 15 Asia Pacific markets, the role requires strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to influence and collaborate with leaders from diverse cultural backgrounds, and exceptional business acumen and judgment. The successful candidate will be passionate about translating insights into action and delivering meaningful, measurable business impact across the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director, Strategy and Insights in the 3-year and annual strategic planning process, preparing timely reviews and communicating strategic project updates to internal and external stakeholders. Support regional leadership on aspects related to performance tracking, executive reporting, and strategic communications
  • Lead strategic projects and regional growth initiatives, identifying opportunities, structuring complex business problems, and developing recommendations for regional leadership team
  • Drive cross-functional strategic priorities and regional "big bets," partnering with market, regional, and global teams to support pilot, scale-up, and execution efforts
  • Conduct and synthesize market intelligence, customer insights, competitive benchmarking, and business analytics to inform strategic decision-making and future growth opportunities
  • Support the development of regional commercial capabilities, including pricing, promotions, revenue management frameworks, and scalable tools, standards, and playbooks
  • Thought partner to regional leadership by providing analytical rigor, business insights, and recommendations to support key strategic and operational decisions
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, ways of working, and cross-functional effectiveness, helping to drive organizational transformation and change across the region
  • Manage research, analytics, and internal projects end-to-end, including project design, stakeholder alignment, vendor management, and implementation support
  • Build strong partnerships and influence stakeholders across regional hubs, global functions & market to enable execution and business impact
  • Develop clear, compelling executive communications and presentations that translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations


Required Experience

  • Top-tiered management consulting and/ or in-house consulting experience (a must). 6-8 years of overall experience of which min 2-3 years in delivering complex projects with multiple parallel workstreams
  • Experience leading large-scaled projects involving multiple stakeholders, markets, and workstreams, while driving alignment and delivering measurable business outcome
  • Experience in corporate business planning, budget preparation a plus
  • Experience in and enjoy working with people from diverse culture background, appreciate and acknowledges differences in way of working
  • MBA / equivalent masters degrees holder would be ideal
  • Prior retail, QSR, consumer goods, foodservice, hospitality experience is nice to have

     

     

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills and strong business acumen. Role holder is expected to conduct data analysis and deliver on financial modelling 
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and build credibility across diverse stakeholder groups, including regional leadership teams, global functions, and market partners 
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, compelling executive-level recommendations and presentations 
  • Native level written and spoken English, fluency in additional Asian language(s) is a plus
