About the Role

Description

Point Global Logistics is an aggressive, independent freight forwarder and logistics provider. In operation since 2014 with 15 branch offices in Houston, New Jersey, Charlotte, Chicago, San Francisco, Asheville, Monterrey, Hidalgo, Mexico City, Shanghai, Santo Domingo, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. With an extensive network of partners throughout 58 countries around the world, we deliver logistics solutions to our clients by matching our expertise with personal attention to every detail in the supply chain.

As part of our focus on growth, process integration and service, we are now seeking a Business Systems Administrator to own and operate our core software platform, Magaya, while supporting broader IT initiatives across our US and global operations. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role for someone who thrives on solving complex system problems, keeping critical platforms running at peak performance, and growing into a broader technology leadership role over time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the company's primary administrator and subject matter expert for Magaya, our Transportation Management System, supporting headquarters in Humble, Texas and regional offices as needed
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and version updates including testing, cutover coordination, and post-go-live stabilization
  • Build and manage test plans including regression testing and user acceptance testing
  • Troubleshoot system issues by analyzing error logs, identifying root causes, and working directly with vendors to resolve escalated cases
  • Oversee integrations between Magaya and other business systems, ensuring data integrity and operational continuity
  • Train staff on system functionality and drive adoption of tools and updates
  • Optimize system configuration to improve efficiency and support business growth
  • Develop controls and ensure regulatory compliance across system processes
  • Over time, and as bandwidth allows, take on broader oversight of IT functions including management of our outsourced desktop support, networking, and infrastructure partners

Requirements

  • 5+ years administering or deeply supporting an enterprise software platform including ERP (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics), TMS (Magaya, Cargowise, etc.), WMS, or similar
  • Hands-on experience leading or playing a key role in at least one major system upgrade, patch cycle, or migration, from planning through post-go-live
  • Strong understanding of how enterprise systems are architected: databases, APIs, integrations, user roles, and configuration management
  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, or a related field
  • Ability to read error logs, trace issues to their source, and distinguish configuration problems from bugs
  • Availability to travel once or twice per month
  • Items that are helpful yet not required include a Microsoft certification and familiarity with freight forwarding workflows.

Magaya experience is not required. We are looking for someone with deep systems intelligence who can apply their expertise to our platform

Location

This role is central to our day-to-day operations. Thus, the person will work onsite at the corporate office in Humble, Texas, Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM.

Work Authorization

At this time, we are only able to consider qualified candidates who do not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
