About The Company
Whitewater Group is a multi-disciplinary engineering company with water at the heart of everything we do.
Headquartered in Ireland, with teams operating across Europe, we design, build, and maintain dependable water infrastructure for critical industries, including data centres, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, manufacturing, and energy. Our engineers support clients from first concept through detailed design, installation, optimisation, and ongoing service.
Industry needs water systems that meet strict standards and reduce risk and waste. That is the challenge we focus on every day. We design, build, and maintain water infrastructure that is safe, efficient, and future ready – helping our clients in critical industries stay compliant, cut consumption, and improve performance across multiple sites and markets.

Our mission is to unlock the potential of water through innovative engineering that creates measurable impact – enhancing availability and driving efficiency across industries worldwide.
Water, engineered.
About the Role
About the Role
As Whitewater Group continues to scale across multiple international markets, we are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to take full ownership of the commercial function across our project portfolio in Ireland, Nordics and US contracts. This is a leadership role where you will build, manage, and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors.
You will be the commercial backbone of our delivery operation: ensuring every project is contracted and estimated correctly, every variation is captured and recovered, and every member of your team is performing to the highest standard. The right person for this role is someone who has done it before — experienced, organised, comfortable with large numbers, and equally comfortable managing people as they are managing contracts.
Your profile
- 10+ years in quantity surveying or commercial management, with a track record in a senior leadership role.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing a QS team — leading a commercial team is essential for this role.
- Strong command of contract administration, variation recovery, CVR, cashflow forecasting, and final accounts.
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering and construction sectors strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
- Fluent English; additional European languages an advantage.
- Minimum 3 days per week in the Naas or Clonmel office; international travel approximately one week per month.
Why us?
At Whitewater Group, you'll join a fast-growing international engineering company where your expertise is valued and your career can thrive. We offer a competitive salary package based on your experience and qualifications, along with clear opportunities for career progression within a dynamic and expanding organisation. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of complex, high-impact engineering projects alongside multicultural teams, gaining valuable international exposure. We also provide life cover, a pension scheme, ongoing training and professional development, and a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning through technically challenging projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the commercial team across the full project lifecycle, from contract award through to final account.
- Ensure contracts are aligned with estimates and that all variations are identified, valued, and recovered.
- Oversee procurement strategy and subcontractor package letting; negotiate contracts while maintaining quality and programme.
- Administer main and subcontracts, ensuring compliance and timely resolution of all commercial matters.
- Prepare and report monthly cost/value reconciliations, forecasts, and cashflows to senior leadership.
- Manage progress payments, change control, and commercial risk across the portfolio.
- Provide commercial input into value engineering, risk management, and project delivery decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and delivery partners.
