Senior System Software Engineer — CPU Platform Pre-Silicon Systems Validation Lead

NVIDIA is building CPU platforms that demand exceptional system firmware quality from lab bring-up through customer and factory deployment. The Platform System Software Enablement team is seeking a senior engineer to lead technical delivery for System BIOS (SBIOS) and adjacent platform-firmware issues across ODM/OEM partners and NVIDIA factory programs. This role provides high-ownership, Taiwan-time-zone technical leadership for ambiguous field issues, connecting direct hands-on investigation with effective global engineering engagement. Success means turning urgent issues into clear evidence, decisive technical next steps, and durable prevention.
What you'll be doing:
Serve as the technical delivery owner for SBIOS and CPU-platform issues reported by customers, ODM/OEM partners, factory teams, and internal stakeholders.
Lead in-person and in-time-zone triage for platform bring-up, boot, firmware update, BMC, and OS interaction issues.
Reproduce failures; collect logs, version and configuration matrices, debug status, and experiment results; create evidence-ready escalation packages.
Execute controlled recovery, flash, validation, and interoperability experiments while following security and release processes.
Coordinate domain experts across firmware, hardware, validation, and partner teams to drive timely technical closure.
Convert recurring issues into improved diagnostics, playbooks, known-issue guidance, and customer-readiness practices.
Strong AI-enabled skills and thinking — use AI to accelerate analysis, exploration, and documentation while maintaining rigor, originality, and judgment that do not come from AI.
How you'll use AI in this role:
Treat AI (LLMs, code assistants, intelligent search, internal copilots) as a core part of your workflow for:
Correlating logs, bugs, source context, configuration data, and prior resolutions during technical triage.
Producing reproducible evidence packages, experiment plans, and concise cross-team escalation summaries.
Identifying recurring symptoms and improving diagnostic workflows.
Knowing when to trust, verify, or override AI output before firmware flashing, hardware changes, or customer-facing conclusions.
Sharing effective prompts, tools, and investigation patterns with fellow engineers.
What we need to see:
B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus 6+ years of embedded, firmware, BIOS, BMC, or platform system-software development and debugging experience.
Strong C/C++, Python, Linux, and system-debug fundamentals.
Experience with boot flows, SBIOS/UEFI or comparable firmware, firmware update/recovery, UART/SOL logs, and hardware/software integration.
Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous platform issues independently and engage the right domain experts.
Clear written and verbal communication with global engineering teams and external technical partners.
Demonstrated experience using AI-enabled tools to develop engineering tools or solve technical problems.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience with server-platform SBIOS, PLDM/Redfish, BMC, secure boot, signing, or release engineering.
Direct experience with ODM/OEM factories, manufacturing bring-up, or customer platform enablement.
Experience creating auditable diagnostic or validation workflows.
