Position Summary
The Maintenance & Facilities Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance execution and facilities operations to ensure maximum equipment reliability, uptime, and safe, efficient plant operations. This role provides direct oversight of maintenance technicians and the maintenance planning function, while owning the coordination of facilities systems, contractors, and technical resources.
This position consolidates responsibilities previously distributed across maintenance leadership, facilities oversight, and portions of engineering coordination into a single, execution-focused leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership & Execution
- Lead all day-to-day maintenance activities (reactive, preventive, and predictive)
- Supervise and develop Maintenance Technicians to maximize productivity and skill growth
- Ensuretimelyand high-quality completion of work orders
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and reliability
Planning & Scheduling Oversight
- Direct and support the Maintenance Planner to ensure effective planning, scheduling, and prioritization of work
- Improve PM compliance andoptimizemaintenance workflows
- Reduce reactive work through improved planning discipline
Facilities Management
- Own all facility systems including HVAC, utilities, compressed air, electrical distribution, and building infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and manage facility-related repairs, upgrades, and inspections
Contractor & Vendor Management
- Manage external contractors and service providers
- Negotiate scope, ensure quality of work, and control costs
- Coordinate specialized technical services and equipment support
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Drive equipment uptime and reliability initiatives
- Reduce downtime through root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Implement best practices in preventive and predictive maintenance
CMMS & Performance Management
- Ensure disciplined use of CMMS for work orders, asset tracking, and reporting
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- Equipment uptime
- PM compliance
- Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
- Work order backlog
- Overtimeutilization
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Operations, Engineering (as needed), and Production teams
- Support capital projects and equipment installations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance and facilities-related issues

Qualifications
Required
- 5–10+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facilities systems
- Proven experience leading teams and driving accountability
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance KPIs
- Demonstrated ability to reduce downtime and improve reliability
Preferred
- Experience overseeing both maintenance and facilities functions
- Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
- Project management or capital project experience
