Accounting Manager

Summary The Accounting Manager is a critical member of the Accounting Department, which is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records of the Company. The position reports directly to the Controller. This role is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for multiple legal entities, leading the monthly close process, and ensuring accurate consolidation of financial results across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, experience with intercompany transactions and eliminations, and proven ability to lead and develop a team.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities
- Manage preparation of monthly financial statements for all Riverence companies in accordance with US GAAP.
- Ensure consistent application and adherence to Accounting policies across all companies.
- Manage monthly close processes including review and approval of journal entries, account recon-ciliations, capitalization of production costs, fixed asset capitalization, analytic review of financial statements.
- Support management reporting, KPI’s, and business performance analysis.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting across all companies.
- Manage annual insurance applications, policy premium schedules, and annual insurance audits.
- Manage various tax and benefit plan filings and activities, and various miscellaneous compliance filings and activities.
- Supervise and develop Accounting team.
- Manage accounting aspects of ERP system including fiscal period control, chart of account structure and setup, customer and vendor master maintenance, item costing.
- Collaborate with operational and business application teams on developing processes impacting financial records.
- Support banking activities including compliance with any lending covenants.
- Additional assignments and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises Accounting roles.
Work Environment
The employee generally works in an office setting with occasional travel to sites that could expose the employee to outside environmental situations including hot, cold and/or wet conditions. The position re-quires extensive use of office equipment as well as occasional use of other types of manufacturing/processing or specialized aquaculture equipment. The employee may at times require hearing protection.
Physical Demands
This position requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting/carrying (up to 35 pounds).
- Often requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks.
- Often requires standing or sitting for sustained periods of time.
- Repetitive motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The hours of the position vary depending on projects and deadlines. The ability to work long days including occasional weekends is required. Rarely will overnight travel be required.
Travel
Travel to sites for projects and operational collaboration is periodically required.
Education and Experience
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, tax, or business.
- 6-10-years operational accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with ERP systems, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payment, and Inventory.
- Advanced with Microsoft Excel.
