About the Role

Currently, we are looking for a Commercial Truck/Trailer Mechanic to join our team.


Our Truck/Trailer mechanics perform services and repairs on commercial customer vehicles and/or trailers. They also  and need to be able to do the following:
Essential Functions--For Trucks

  • Engine diagnostics
  • Engine systems
  • Charging and starting systems
  • Cooling systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Driveline systems
  • Steering systems
  • Air and air brake systems
  • Hydraulic systems
  • 12v electrical systems
  • Suspension systems
  • Wheel end systems
  • Coupling systems
  • Ability to perform general maintenance procedures including DOT inspections and Oil & lube services

Essential Functions—For Trailers

  • Air and air brake systems
  • Body repairs such as side panels, radius panels, side rails, swing/overhead door, etc.
  • Hydraulic systems
  • 12v electrical systems
  • Suspension systems
  • Wheel end systems
  • Coupling systems
  • Ability to perform general maintenance procedures including DOT inspections

Requirements

  • Fabrication and welding experience preferred
  • Candidate will on occasion be required to work outdoors or on customer’s job site and do service calls. Tooling as well as PPE is provided for onsite service.
  • All other duties as assigned

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Lifting: Frequent lifting over 50 pounds from ground to chest high.
  • Squatting, bending, and twisting: frequent
  • Repetitive motion
  • Sustained vibrations
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Read ticket and perform work listed; write confirmation and recommendation

Work in environment that is not climate controlled. Temperatures range from extremely hot to extremely cold, depending on the season.

  • Vision (Near, distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception)
  • Sense of sound (Alarms, horns and motorized equipment)
  • PPE: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Glasses, gloves, safety harnesses, steel reinforced footwear)

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  •  Minimum of 1 to 3 years working as a diesel or heavy trailer technician.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications (specifically T-series for medium/heavy trucks); DOT air brake certification is preferred but not necessary.
  • Clean and Valid driver's license required; a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) is highly preferred for test-driving equipment and operating mobile service units.
