About the Role: 


We are seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for improving processes, enhancing product quality, and driving efficiency through data analysis, innovative tooling design, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving skills to support equipment design, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position works closely with Operations, Engineering, and production teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and scalable manufacturing solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to drive process improvements, problem-solving initiatives, project execution, and employee training.
  • Design, develop, test, and/or source tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment to support optimized manufacturing methods, including cost justification.
  • Analyze manufacturing data (e.g., First Pass Yield (FPY), takt time, downtime) to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement project tracking methods, including budgets, progress reporting, and cross-functional updates to keep leadership informed.
  • Lead the research, design, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and equipment utilization.
  • Create, standardize, and maintain work instructions and assembly documentation, including digital and electrical documentation systems.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to implement and sustain 5S and workplace organization standards across assigned areas.
  • Promote and enhance ergonomic best practices to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Coordinate new product introductions (NPI) and product changes, including tooling, training, goal setting, and performance evaluation.
  • Support product development by contributing to cost estimates, process validation, scheduling, and prototype builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within heavy equipment, construction, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with heavy equipment design and troubleshooting, including fixture design and development.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (required).
  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to translate designs into functional solutions.
  • Working knowledge of materials and metals, including behavior under heat/cold and welding processes.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes (preferred).
  • Lean Manufacturing certification (preferred) or equivalent continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
