About the Role

Description

   

Purpose of position: The Receiving & Shipping Tech is responsible for coordinating, inspecting and monitoring incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and company requirements. This position manages work order readiness, performs receiving and final inspections, supports logistics and inventory functions, coordinates material flow between departments, and ensures work orders are complete and ready for production while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation). 

· Perform receiving inspections on all incoming material, parts, units and repair orders.

· Perform paperwork inspections prior to release to service of units.

· Perform final inspections on all materials and parts/units shipped.

· Assist technicians in interpreting test requirements and development.

· Support shipping and receiving demands as necessary.

· Choose correct shipping material for products being shipped.

· Incorporate correct shipping procedures per customer, shipping agency, Export and DOT requirements,

· Organize priority parts for IHR in all different areas with help of local suppliers.

· Coordinates parts movements with inventory, procurement and production until the build rack is released to 

 production.

· Performs an inventory on all work racks after inspection is completed. 

· Verifies inventory and ensures all scrap on work racks has been entered in the inspection workbench.

· Monitors outstanding parts on assigned orders and communicate shortages as needed.

· Recommends part exchanges for parts not making the build date.

· Maintains a close working relationship with Logistics, Production, and Sales.

· Works closely with Inventory and IOC Leads and Logistics Manager and attends departmental meetings.

· Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harm.

· Travels as required to support business needs.

· Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as equipment utilization, production methods and 

procedures to increase the efficiency of the department and promote improvement.

· Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.

· Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.

· Works overtime as needed.

· Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)

· Other duties as assigned.

· Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards including wearing required PPE.

· Must be able to see clearly with or without corrective lenses.

· Must be able to hear in normal range with or without aids.

· Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively using a computer keyboard.

·  Must have normal dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

· Must have intermediate to advanced Microsoft computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the ability to learn and be proficient in company-specific software.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally

· Must regularly be able to reach overhead.

· Must be able to stand, walk, reach overhead, squat, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs as needed.

·  Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally.

·  Ability to provide verification of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions. 

Marginal Functions: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person, unless he/she proves unable to perform them after receiving training and/or accommodations that the company judges appropriate).

  

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements: 

· At least 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or GED required. 

  • One (1) year of previous receiving or shipping experience in a warehouse or retail environment required. 
  • Two (2) years of previous Microsoft (Word, Outlook, Excel) computer experience is required. 
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen. 

Work conditions:

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
