Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documentation.
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify project requirements and cost implications.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for construction projects.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control processes.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparative analyses.
  • Prepare and administer contracts, variations, progress claims, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Assess and certify subcontractor progress payments.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Support procurement activities and material cost evaluations.
  • Prepare periodic commercial and financial reports for management.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Quantity Surveying or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects.
  • Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and cost management.

  • Proficiency in quantity surveying and estimation software.
  • Strong understanding of BOQ preparation and tendering processes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Information

  • Experience in building or infrastructure projects in the UAE
  • Knowledge of FIDIC and various UAE Authorities contracts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience using AutoCAD, CostX, Planswift, or similar software is a plus.
