The legendary Cherry Hills Country Club has hosted 12 major tournaments during its storied 93 year history and is perennially listed in the Top 100 clubs in the United States. Most recently the Club hosted the 2014 BMW Championship that included the top 70 professional golfers in the world. The tournament was named PGA Tournament of the Year for the 3rd year and raised $3.5MM for the Evans Scholarship Fund. The Club hosted the 1960 US Open which many golf historians consider to be one of golf's best ever tournaments that produced Arnold Palmer's only US Open win against the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan. Palmer stormed back on the final round making birdie on 6 of the first 7 holes and with Ben Hogan's bogey on 17 & 18 Palmer won his first and only US Open. In addition to premier playing conditions for golf the Club provides spectacular Food and Beverage with patio dining overlooking the majestic rocky mountains. Additionally, the Club has a seasonal pool operation and a formidable tennis program with 6 hard courts and 2 clay courts. The Clubhouse was designed by Burnham and Merrill Hoyt who also won acclaims for designing Red Rocks Amphitheatre just west of Denver along with the Denver Press Club, the original Children's Hospital and the Denver Public Library. Cherry Hills hires over 100 seasonal coworkers each spring to ensure all it's golf, tennis, aquatic, culinary, beverage and social programming is staffed with the best talent possible. This is a seasonal position with operations from Mid-May through the end of August.


Position Summary:


The Seasonal Poolside Cafe Attendant is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and attentive food and beverage service to club members and guests at the poolside cafe. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a team environment, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring a clean and enjoyable dining experience during the busy pool season.  This position is being hired to help with the later part of the season. This position is for the months of August and September only and will be primarily evenings and weekends.  


Key Responsibilities:


Customer Service

  • Greet members and guests with a welcoming attitude.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Deliver orders promptly, ensuring correct items and presentation.
  • Address guest needs and requests in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Food & Beverage Service

  • Understand the menu and be able to make basic recommendations.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas, including arranging furniture, setting tables, and stocking service stations.
  • Refill drinks, clear dishes, and clean tables throughout service.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate orders.

Cleanliness & Safety

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including service stations and poolside dining areas.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing and hygiene.
  • Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to a supervisor immediately.

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with fellow servers, cooks, bartenders, and support staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Be flexible and willing to assist in other areas when needed, including basic prep or restocking.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and follow directions from supervisors and managers.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field is a plus.
    • Previous supervisory or management experience in food service, hospitality, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate a diverse team.
    • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Working knowledge of food safety guidelines and local health regulations.
    • Basic computer proficiency for point-of-sale systems, scheduling, and inventory management.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift moderate weights (e.g., boxes of supplies), and work in an outdoor environment during hot or inclement weather.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and extended shifts during peak season.

Compensation:

This is a part time, seasonal position offered at $17 per hour plus service charge pool.

  • Sick pay up to 48 hours a year - accrued based on hours worked
