About the Role

Description

Careage Home Health of King County is hiring a Full-Time Intake Coordinator to support their patients, staff, and clinical manager.

  • Full-Time, In-Office Role
  • $23 - $27.00 / DOE

Position Overview

In this role, you will ensure that all referrals are received in an accurate and detailed manner and are properly handled for staffing. Responsible to schedule appropriate clinicians and following through with physician/patient/staff contact.


Summary of Responsibilities

  • Complete accurate intake packets for staff and patients
  • Serve as liaison between patients, staff, and clinical manager
  • Respond promptly to all customer service issues and concerns
  • Provide pertinent documentation to Clinical Manager for review regarding all referral sources
  • Maintain and document in electronic record
  • Work with Business Office re: authorizations process
  • Complete MD verification in PECOS and OIG annually
  • Demonstrate effective communications
  • Assist with staffing and coordinate with the clinical manager
  • Complete MSP questionnaire.
  • Engage with customers and be positive and professional

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, an Associates degree is preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • Must be able to pass WSP background check
  • Must possess practical written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills, and apply good judgment based on sound management principles.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Critical thinking: Able to understand what a person needs when coming to them in crisis or in a less than optimum state of health and being able to find solutions for a myriad of issues will be necessary.
  • Problem-solving: Find solutions for the problems with customers service and work with the clinical manager regarding decisions for service and severity
  • Attention to detail: Review all of a patient's medical history with a close eye so as not to miss any details that will deter recovery or care.
  • Compassion: During moments of trauma or crisis, they and their family are vulnerable or in pain. Being compassionate is an asset in this field.
  • Patience: Being patient with people who may have trouble communicating or understanding what is happening is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Good listeners and good speakers. They communicate with patients and their families and often are the go-between them and doctors or other medical staff.
  • Organization: Deal with multiple patients every day, with a myriad of needs. Keeping their records organized is crucial.
