About the Role

Description

Purpose and Scope 

To support the Diocese of Phoenix in its mission to Encounter the Living Christ , this part-time position assists the Catholic Social Teaching office in its initiative focused on global solidarity and the universal Church. The priority of this position is to coordinate the Engage Your Equal program and assist with other initiatives such as The Pontifical Mission Societies and Catholic Relief Services which enhance the global solidarity of Engage Your Equal (EYE).

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with Engage Your Equal applicants and interview committee for scheduling purposes
  • Work with Catholic organizations on promoting the Engage Your Equal Application 
  • Oversee the booking of flights, international insurance, visas, and other necessary aspects of international travel
  • Plan administrative aspects of E.Y.E. meetings and retreat (location, timing, etc.)
  • Assist with the coordination of Mission Appeals and other Pontifical Mission Societies efforts in the Diocese of Phoenix 
  • Partner with the Coordinator of Catholic Social Teaching on the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl Campaign and Grant
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:  

  • Working knowledge of Catholic teaching on global solidarity  
  • Good team player and teamwork skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed and well organized
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook
  • Willingness to travel within the Diocese as needed

Minimum Qualifications:?  

  • Bachelor’s degree, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or minimum 5 years of experience
  • Love of Catholic faith and heart for service

Work Environment:?  

  • This job operates in a professional environment at the Diocesan Pastoral Center
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets 
  • This position reports to the Coordinator of Catholic Social Teaching
  • This position will work 20-25 hours per week

Physical Demands  

  • This position requires flexibility around physical demands. Some offsite travel might be required
