The Banquet Bartender plays a key role in delivering elevated beverage service in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. This position requires a polished and professional demeanor, strong knowledge of mixology, and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences. Responsibilities
- Set up banquet bar stations according to event specifications and Southall standards, including proper stocking of all beverages, mixers, garnishes, and bar tools.
- Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, take beverage orders, and prepare cocktails in accordance with standard recipes and portion control practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout the event; follow “clean as you go” and teamwork policies.
- Accurately follow all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), ensuring that all beverage requirements are met.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly secured and accounted for after each shift, including cash handling and bar breakdown procedures.
- Collaborate with the Banquet Captain and other team members to ensure seamless execution of events and respond promptly to guest needs or special requests.
- Uphold health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Polish glassware, prepare garnishes, and execute beverage service to Southall’s luxury standards.
- Communicate any guest feedback, challenges, or inventory needs efficiently and professionally.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail preparation
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, diplomatic, and guest-focused under pressure
- Professional appearance and courteous manner at all times
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Knowledge of banquet operations and experience working in a luxury or Forbes-rated environment is a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be T.I.P.S. certified or TABC Certification (or complete upon hire)
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
