Employment Type: Part Time (2:30 pm - 5:45 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 1:45 pm - 5:45 pm on Wednesdays)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

General Teaching Responsibilities
- Primary supervisor for K-8 students staying for extended care after the regular school day
- Prepare activities that are developmentally appropriate for elementary and middle school students
- Assist students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments
- Monitor individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings
- Communicate with the parents through daily drop-off and pick-up
- Maintain a safe environment for students
- Responsible for all activity and preparations for the program
- Follow and enforce all safety policies
- Responsible for student check-in/out
- Attend professional development sessions as requested by principal
- Performs other jobs/tasks/duties deemed necessary for a smooth functioning program as assigned by the principal

- Active, practicing Roman Catholic (required)
- Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy
Professional Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Follow and enforce all safety policies.
- Assist with parent check-in/out.
- Proactive response to any issues and concerns that may arise
- Ability to solve problems and provide solutions.
- Ability to multitask and cope with a stressful environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
To successfully meet the needs of the students in his/her care, the teacher must:
- Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom. While standing the teacher will frequently hold objects they are working with or demonstrating
- Sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc.
- Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Walk on both even and uneven surfaces
- Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending
- Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity; may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at the class
- Assist in moving children's desks and chairs to change the layout of the classroom to influence the learning situation. It is occasionally necessary to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 pounds from the office to classrooms
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to be inside the classroom. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the classroom and preschool environment, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, trainings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend trainings or workshops.
