MB- Field Operations Heavy Equipment Operator

Position Summary
Field Operations Heavy Equipment Operators will be responsible for maintaining Moonlight Basin’s grounds, driveways, roads, and parking areas throughout the winter season. Equipment Operators must be versed in heavy equipment operations, including Loaders, Bobcat Toolcats, Plow Trucks, and other equipment commonly used in snow removal. This position must be flexible in working hours and willing to work early morning and evenings as well as weekends and holidays. Operating heavy machinery is a must. Equipment Operators work directly with other snow removal crew members as a team to accomplish daily goals and tasks. The position requires the ability to read instruments and recognize mechanical issues in heavy equipment and be able to identify obstacles and hazards in all types of terrain. Ensures compliance with all Risk Management, health and safety protocols

Position Requirements
- Daily operational inspection, fueling, and cleaning of snow removal machinery.
- Plowing snow, widening roadways or view sheds, and hauling snow during daylight and at night.
- Communication of work performed, area covered, and reporting of any irregularities for other operators to be aware of.
- Safely operate snow removal equipment.
- Responding to owner or property manager requests.
- Shovel snow.
- Other work as assigned.
- Perform daily responsibilities in all weather conditions
- Ability to work individually and as a team with other crew members
- Perform physically demanding tasks for the majority of the work day
- Follow written and oral directions from supervisor/manager
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Knowledge of safe and efficient operation of small equipment and heavy equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time, sometimes in inclement weather.
Working Conditions
This position works outdoors in weather conditions typical of a mountain ski resort. Work hours typically start between 6:00-7:00 am. Except in the winter when it snows overnight, requiring snow removal to start at 3:00-4:00 AM. Conditions in the field are typical to those found at a residential community, working outdoors, exposed to the weather, and working in the snow, rain, hail, mud, with uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces.
Physical Requirements
This is a physical demanding job where the incumbent is required to lift up to 50lbs on a regularly basis, stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch and do repetitive tasks with typical breaks. Employee will use power tools that vibrate or operate sharp cutting equipment.
- Working with heavy equipment requires employees to hear verbal communications and equipment operations.
- Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
- Operate manual and power tools requiring the ability to grip objects and move fingers and hands.
- See and read equipment operation manuals and safety instruction documents.
- Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on landscaping and snow removal equipment.
