 WSR Insurance Services is seeking a Crop Specialist. The Crop Specialist is a key member of the service team and assists with managing a book of business.

This role is ideal for a seasoned insurance professional who enjoys leading people, strengthening workflows, and improving execution without carrying a book of business. You’ll play a key role in translating department priorities into daily action while supporting growth, quality, and accountability across service teams. 


About the role:

The Crop Specialist involves direct client interaction, proactive policy servicing, and close coordination with Sales staff to ensure a seamless client experience. Responsibilities include overseeing policy administration, maintaining compliance, supporting renewals and endorsements, and facilitating communication with insurance carriers. The Crop Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring service accuracy and timeliness, and supporting the overall success of the department. Regular attendance and attention to detail are essential to success in this role.


 Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Producers and licensed Account Managers to gather information and other supporting data to complete required applications, documents, and reports.
  • Assist with applications and produce necessary supplements and forms.
  • Develop knowledge of insurance carriers' processing systems to accurately administer applications, including production and acreage reporting by deadlines.
  • Review and submit insurance applications, including schedules of insurance, for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and send correspondence on all new and renewal policies to the client.
  • Report all new claims and manage ongoing claims as needed.
  • Process policy cancellations and notify clients.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of client accounts in the agency’s system.
  • Maintain working knowledge of crop insurance regulatory rules along with carrier regulations and policies.
  • Follow established workflows, regulatory guidelines, and internal service standards
  • Provide backup support to team members and assist with special projects or other duties as assigned
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to expand industry knowledge and compliance awareness
  • Periodic travel may be required to attend in-person meetings, training sessions, and educational events





Requirements

  • Knowledge of crop insurance regulatory guidelines and carrier underwriting practices preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
  • Excellent written 
  • and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities as well as collaborating and working effectively as part of a team  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) 
  • Capable of handling sensitive client information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

 Educations and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Crop insurance, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, education, and experience.
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license preferred or ability to obtain license.
